Kinwong Electronic Wins Successive Award of “HELLA Shanghai Electronic 2016/2017 “Best Supplier”

October 28, 2017

On October 24, 2017, HELLA China Automotive Electronics Division held its annual supplier meeting in Onehome Art Hotel, Shanghai. This was the third supplier meeting held by HELLA Shanghai/Xiamen Electronic. Kinwong Electronic won the 2016/2017 “Best Supplier” after the first and second terms.

HELLA awarded a total of five supplier awards this year, including three Best Supplier awards, one Best Progressive Supplier award, and one Best Cooperative Supplier award. Kinwong was the only supplier winning the Best Supplier award in the PCB industry, among which Shantou Ultrasound won the Best Progress award. At the meeting, HELLA noted that the output value of the HELLA China region reached 3.5 billion yuan this year. The main product types in the future would be automotive power system (including 48V automotive power supply, battery management system), safe self-driving (24GHZ. 77GHZ radar series), power steering, inside and outside air PM2.5 detection and other products, which also put forward new technical requirements for suppliers. For Kinwong, in addition to ensuring the quality of existing products, it would be also necessary to increase R & D efforts to raise the technological level of on-board circuit boards in heavy copper, HDI, resin plug covered with copper, HF and other types to strongly cooperate with HELLA to achieve a new round of rapid growth. HELLA Shanghai would complete the expansion in the third quarter of 2018, when the SMT production capacity would double, with HF type as its main product. This prospect was both an opportunity and a challenge for Kinwong. In 2018, Kinwong’s technology frontier departments would need more in-depth technical discussions with HELLA’s technical department to become a qualified supplier of HF products.

For the successive winner of the “Best supplier” award, Mr. Petznick, director of the HELLA Group, fully acknowledged the performance of Kinwong over the past year and congratulated Kinwong for being awarded the title. Mr. Ziethen, a board member and head of global sourcing, also said that subsequently, Kinwong needed to provide good ideas and participate in early design, rather than just followed the footsteps of HELLA’s technological development. At the same time, suppliers needed to move to industry 4.0, conduct lean production activities, and strive to optimize automated production processes.

HELLA Group ranked 32nd in the top 100 suppliers of auto parts and components in the world, and maintained a high market share in the emerging field of automobiles in the future. This also required Kinwong, as its main supplier of PCB, to make a good plan for the future, so as to meet the technical and capacity requirements of new products, provide more satisfactory products for HELLA, and realize the win-win development with HELLA.
